Waste is Bananas is a new way that The Market is tackling leftover food waste.

Occupiers of 22 Bishopsgate are now encouraged to bring overripe and browning bananas down the Level 2 where, along with just £1, the team will turn them into a banana loaf ready for pick up the next morning! As long as they bring us at least four of the delicious yellow fruit at the end of their life, we will be happy to do our bit in reducing food that goes into the bin.

Not only does this mean unloved fruit gets a second life reducing the amount of waste coming out of the building – it also means that occupiers are set up for breakfast the next day.
